High Point VIP (Very Informed Person) Awareness Tour

PURPOSE: To educate and train hospitality professionals to better serve out-of-town visitors, newcomers, and future residents, and to raise awareness of High Point’s destination profile as a great place to visit. The content of the tour will cover High Point’s amenities, including family-friendly attractions, event venues, signature events, parks, recreation, Certified Autism Centers, and our growing downtown.

WHY: Guilford County generates $1.5 billion in direct visitor spending bringing a wealth of revenue to our local economies. Each year High Point welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors to High Point University, our bi-annual High Point Market tradeshow, our local retail furniture stores, our local area attractions, signature festivals, and area sports events. These visitors will share with their friends and family and return if their experience is a positive one. The first visit could also be a future relationship with a newcomer or business owner to our city. The VIP Tour is designed to be a resource to empower visitor-facing staff to go above and beyond to provide exceptional service and knowledge about the area.

WHO’S INVITED: Anyone who services visitors and newcomers to our city, including frontline staff from hotels/accommodations, restaurants, retail stores, attractions, meeting and sports venues, realtors, city government, business owners, and retirement communities. Priority seating will be given to our direct industry partners noted above with a limit maximum of five representatives per business partner. Local community ambassadors are welcome to join if there is a vacancy on the bus due to cancellations. A waiting list will be set up for ambassadors with the understanding that confirmation may be sent within a week of the actual tour. Flexibility will be key.

COST: The tour is FREE! Visit High Point will provide continental breakfast, lunch, and snacks.

WHERE: The VIP Tour begins and ends at the Regional Visitors Center, 1634 North Main Street Suite 102.
