If you are staying in town for the holiday or visiting the area, we have a list of events that can help you plan your days and, of course, includes fireworks!
1. If you are in town early in the week and plan to do some furniture shopping, don’t miss Ashley Interior’s Big Sale July 1-3. A section of the store is devoted to “Braxton’s Bargains” and includes closeouts, scratch and dent, accessories, lamps, rugs, and one of a kind pieces.
2. July 4, Butler Lighting will host a “Tariff Buster – July 4th Sale” from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Beat the Tariff prices with their largest sale of the year and always is a great time to save on exquisite lighting.
3. Kick the tires on some oldies and classics at the Let’s Talk Cars Cruise In! Enjoy refreshments and music at the largest weekly ‘Cruise-in’ in North Carolina on July 4!
Fireworks and Where to Watch Them!
4. Uncle Sam Jam! at Oak Hollow Festival Park is a celebration of our nation’s birthday with live music, vendors, the amazing Family Fun Zone – and of course, FIREWORKS! Gates open at 4:30 p.m. with fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Cost: $10 per car; $20 per person for Family Fun Zone pass.
5. The High Point Rockers invite you to celebrate America at BB&T Point! With a purchase of a Freedom 4 Pack you’ll receive 4 Outfield Box Tickets, 4 VIP Field Access Wristbands to watch the Grand Slam Fireworks Show, 4 Hot Dogs & Drinks and 1 Rockers Baseball! The best part? You can go either Wednesday or Thursday night!
6. 4th of July at Finch Field is an annual tradition of celebrating America with America’s pastime in nearby Thomasville! Tickets are $9 for general admission, $10 for box seats. You can register online for general admission tickets ONLY. Registration is now open!
7. The City of Archdale is just minutes from High Point, and Creekside Park’s 50th Annual 4th of July Festival will include carnival rides, pony rides, food trucks, shopping with local vendors, knocker ball, live music, and MORE! There will be an ATM on site this year as well! The Festival begins at 4 p.m. Music by Part Time Party Time Band will be from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with Fireworks after dark. Admission is free!
Additional Weekend Activities
8. The “Declaration of Independence” is waiting for your signature at High Point Museum! Practice your penmanship with quills and black walnut ink provided by costumed interpreters during the Quill Writing in the Historical Park event, Saturday, July 6, 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
9. Do you love watermelon? Then you don’t want to miss “all things watermelon” at the High Point Farmers Market on Saturday. You can even learn how to cook during cooking demonstrations at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 6.
10. Calling all outdoor enthusiasts! Take a walk on the High Point Greenway, that includes a section with an elevated boardwalk through the trees. The High Point Greenway runs into the Bicentennial Greenway which connects to Greensboro! The best place to park is Piedmont Environmental Center and choose between the High Point Greenway or the Bicentennial Greenway. Or why not do both?
