Don’t be scared, spooky season is right around the corner. Here are the top 10 spookiest events you will want to go to this fall that are in and around High Point.

1. Kersey Valley Spookywoods
For 35 years, Spookywoods remains a Triad tradition for Halloween chills and thrills. They were voted number one for haunted attractions in the Carolinas and number two in the nation for 2019. Enjoy other fall festivities at Kersey Valley including ziplines, ropes course, bounce pillows, a famous corn maze, and more. You will want to add this one to your fall bucket list!

2. Boo Bash Carnival at City Lake Park
Take a ride on the Spooky Train or the Creepy Carousel at High Point City Lake Park on October 12. For only $5 a person, you get unlimited amounts of fun. There will also be Foggy Mini Golf, face painting, corn hole, and much more! This event will be from 3pm-7pm and you can purchase tickets beforehand on the High Point Parks & Recreation Special Events webpage.

Kick off spooky season by listening to Ghost stories at the High Point Museum. Professional storyteller Cynthia Brown will share the haunting tales of pirates and creepy crawlies. These stories are sure to give the whole family goosebumps. This event is free to the public and will be October 19 from 6pm-8pm.

What better way to celebrate Halloween than to party in a castle? The Beer and Fear Bash is the Halloween party that you and your friends will not want to miss. This event sells out every year, so go ahead and mark your calendar for October 26. There will be multiple contests for best costume and a variety of live entertainment, from aerial acrobatics to fire performances. This is sure to be a night you won’t forget. 5. Halloween Spooky Hoopla at High Point Athletic Complex
Stroll down the costume parade and take a hayride at the Halloween Spooky Hoopla at the High Point Athletic Complex. You can get your face painted and go trunk-or-treating, and then prepare for the haunted trail. There will also be gaming trucks and food trucks. This free event will be from 5pm-8pm and will be a lot of fun.

6. Ghost, Goblins, and Pumpkins…Oh My!
This one is for the crafty kids out there. From spooky ghosts to cute pumpkins, there are a lot of decorative projects for you to create and enjoy this fall. This event will be held at Theatre Art Galleries on October 26 from 10am-1pm and all the art supplies and lunch are included. Tickets are $35 for Non-Members and $30 for TAG Members. This is the perfect activity for kids ages 7-11. If you are interested, register online at the Theatre Art Galleries website.

The High Point Farmers Market is wrapping up their season with a Spooktacular Soiree. Saturday, October 26th. You can enjoy the same weekly farmers market activities, but with a little twist. There will be a photo booth, face painter, steel drummer, and a pet costume contest. This event is free to the public and will be held during regular farmers market hours, 8:30am-1pm.

8. Downtown Halloween Trick-or-Treat
Downtown Greensboro and Vintage Vogue Boutique are holding their fourth annual Trick-or-Treat event. Many of the downtown stores will be handing out goodies to all the trick-or-treaters on October 26 from 2pm-5pm. The shops that are participating will have an orange pumpkin displayed in their window. Shops that are participating in the Teal Pumpkin Project will display them in their window and provide non-food items for kids with allergies.

9. High Point Rockers, BB&T Point Stadium high point rockers halloween
Baseball season may be over, but that doesn’t mean the fun has to stop! Bring your little Rockers out to BB&T Point stadium for a free, kid-friendly event on Tuesday, Oct. 29th from 6pm-8pm for HYPE’s Halloween bash. Indulge in candy, games, a costume contest and multiple prizes. Musical entertainment will be provided by DJ HEK YEH and you can buy cider and beer at the concession stands.

The community is invited to the Regional Visitor Center in High Point for the Prime Time on Main event on October 30 from 5pm-7pm. A variety of local businesses will set up booths for all the little trick-or-treaters. They will also be handing out information about upcoming events and attractions that the whole family will be interested in. Stick around until the end because there will be a costume contest and the winner will receive a grand prize! Enjoy the treats available and learn what our community has to offer.
