Guidelines and Policies

The following requirements are necessary to maintain this exclusive status.

1. To ensure program readiness, participating businesses must have been open and serving customers for a minimum of six months.
2. Must have a minimum of a 4.5 star rating on Google with a minimum of twenty reviews.
3. Restaurants and hotels must have a Guilford County Health Permit with a Health Sanitation score of 95% or better, if applicable.
4. Franchise restaurants must originate in North Carolina to be considered with no more than two establishments in a thirty mile radius.
5. Property must be clean and well-maintained.
6. Must accept at least one major credit or debit card. (This requirement will be waived in the event the establishment has an ATM machine onsite)
7. Management will schedule appropriate staff levels to handle customer volume.
8. Management (or their representative) must be readily accessible at all time for guest needs or requests.
9. Should make a good faith effort to support the community of High Point and other hospitality industry partners by providing visitors information about area sites and attractions.
10. Should continuously work to improve knowledge and skills to the benefit of their clients, themselves and the community of High Point.
11. Must be open as advertised.
12. Restaurants and retail establishments must provide a meaningful added value or exclusive offer to visitors. Example; a tangible benefit such as a percentage discount, complimentary item, value added upgrade, or special promotion for Visit High Point referrals or identified visitors. Offers must be clearly defined, consistently honored, and communicated to staff to ensure a seamless guest experience that reflects High Point’s commitment to hospitality and service excellence.
13. If at any time a participating partner fails to maintain requirements, they will be removed from the list and will no longer be included as a Partner of Excellence. The business will be encouraged to contact Visit High Point to obtain resources for reinstatement. Once corrected and a site visit has been conducted, reinstatement will be determined by the Visit High Point President.
