The High Point Preservation Society was incorporated in 1984 and certified a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit in 1986. Our early achievements included spearheading a $6.5 million restoration of the 1906 Southern Railway Depot utilizing federal, state, and local funding, including $300,000 raised directly from community residents, completed in 2003. The HPPS helped establish the High Point Preservation Commission in partnership with the City to oversee local historic districts.
The High Point Regional Association of REALTORS is one of more than 1800 local boards and associations nationwide that comprise the National Association of REALTORS. The High Point Regional Association of REALTORS is an advocate for the property rights and the “Voice of Real Estate” in the Triad area of North Carolina.
The High Point Rockers are a member of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. In 2019, the Rockers finished second in their division, clinching a playoff berth in their inaugural season. As the collaboration between Business High Point and the High Point Community Foundation grew, leaders throughout the High Point community galvanized around the idea that we have to unite to promote, strengthen, and advocate for great schools in High Point. What emerged from this group is the High Point Schools Partnership. The Partnership is a volunteer led initiative of the Guilford Education Alliance (GEA) committed to maximizing support for High Point Schools so all children thrive and are prepared for the future. It includes business leaders, educators, philanthropists, parents, non-profit executives, elected officials, and neighborhood leaders. It is a grass-roots coalition that has formed to focus on and to highlight the schools in High Point.
You may know High Point as the “Home Furnishings Capital of the World! and home to the famous Spring and Fall High Point Markets, but High Point is also a unique Design Destination for luxury home furnishings available to the trade year-round through the High Point Showroom Association. This association of 40-50 member showrooms and industry partners for interior designers, architects, specifiers and builders working in residential and contract design.
