
Day 1: Hello’s in High Point
Morning
High Point, North Carolina cannot wait to show you what we have in store for the weekend! To get your morning fuel, Debeen Espresso and 83 Custom Coffee are perfect stops for your coffee and small bakery needs. Inside DeBeen Espresso is Pure Light Yoga studio and they both share an eclectic atmosphere with local art and personable baristas. 83 Custom Coffee creates a cozy and welcoming environment and while sipping on your morning coffee you can also browse the Friendship Plant Company. Their give a plant a friend initiative sparks a community of generosity through their tiny succulents and stickers. High Point University is open to the public with family friendly activities that will please all attending! The Culp Planetarium host free, exciting and educational programs. In just under an hour, learn about how we reached for the stars and landed on the moon with showings of “Flight to the Moon” or why North Carolina was ‘First in Flight’ with showings of “Take Flight.” A unique way to take a self-guided tour around campus is to check out the Mariana Qubein Botanical Gardens. There are 25 outside gardens and an arboretum, all with curated landscaping for educational purposes and practical uses! Midday
For lunch, experience North Carolina style barbeque from Sweet Old Bill’s or Kepley’s Barbecue. Sweet Old Bill’s has the perfect combination of domestic beers and bbq pulled pork sandwiches! The flavors will have you wishing you ordered one to go. Kepley’s is right down the road and they will have you feeling like you are part of their family. When you are craving their hushpuppies and chopped bbq while at home, you will be happy to know they can ship it to you! For a mid-afternoon stop, Oak Hollow Marina has something for everyone in your family. From fishing and boat launching capabilities, children’s playground, and paddleboarding, kayaking and sailboat rentals there are endless opportunities to explore the Oak Hollow Lake. On a nice sunny day, you and your family could spend hours on the water and then with a packed picnic, take a lunch break before getting right back on the paddle boards. It has a sandy launch area for any water activity and when you are on the water and need a break, the lake has shaded shoreline making it easy to paddle your way to towards the shade. Although it may seem small, once you get on the water you will realize how much lake you get to explore!
Evening
To close the night out with a delicious meal, Magnolia Blue, Lulu and Blu or Southern Roots have elevated American style food with an intimate setting to wind down the night. Magnolia Blue has a light and inviting atmosphere with indoor seating and an outdoor rooftop patio. Order your favorite cocktail or try one of their many wines they have available all while enjoying the food, company and views during the warmer months. While Lulu and Blu offers regular dining options, they also host monthly wine dinners paired with a six-course meal! Southern Roots is nestled in on the main street of Jamestown, North Carolina. You will feel like you are in your own home with fresh and local ingredients in every meal!
Day 2: Endless Explorations
Morning
The second day in High Point calls for more good eats and exploration! To start the day, the High Point Farmer’s Market has a variety of vendors and fresh, local produce. This has been one of the favorite spots for locals on the weekends and if you are visiting it is an absolute must stop so you can see the latest foods, and local businesses. Another relaxing stop is Oak Hollow Festival Park. Enjoy a large wooden deck that is perfect for meditating, exercising or just taking in the fresh air. There are covered picnic areas overlooking the lake and Oak Hollow Golf Course, which are great for family cookouts with provided grills.
Midday
For a light lunchtime bite, Blue Zucchini & Company and Blue Rock Pizza & Tap have American style favorites each with their own unique twist. Blue Zucchini & Company is the perfect spot for comfort food, with delicious sandwiches and salads no matter the day! Blue Rock Pizza & Tap creates endless possibilities for all your pizza, sandwiches and salad needs. Paired with local beers on tap and the unique tributes to music legends from all genres and decades, Blue Rock will leave you with a greater appreciation of music, beer and good food. Evening
As dinner approaches, 98 Asian Bistro and Simply Thai have larger portions that are easy for families to try and share different dishes together! 98 Asian Bistro shares a long-established Asian cuisine experience with their decorations and classic ingredients in every meal. Simply Thai has a modern twist to popular Asian cuisine classics, with bar seating allowing customers to watch their sushi made right in front of them! To end the day with a sweet treat, Andy’s Frozen Custard has delicious sundaes, milkshakes and more! Andy’s is not the traditional ice cream parlor with booths and jukeboxes, it is an outdoor, walk-up where they serve their customers’ sweet cravings. While you are waiting for your custard, you can look through the windows to see the whole operation of how custard is created, stored, and served! In the warmer months it is the best spot to sit outside and cool off from a long day of adventuring or anytime your custard craving kicks in, the drive thru works just as well!
Day 3: Good Eats & Goodbyes
Morning
As you head out of High Point, brunch is a great way to fuel the rest of your day. Penny Path Café & Crêpe Shop has unique sweet and savory options for larger-than-life crepes and coffee drinks. With exposed bar seating, you will feel like you are in your own kitchen watching your crêpe being made right in front of you. For on-the-go breakfast options, Granny’s Donuts & Bakery has endless sweet breakfast options that will please everyone! If you stop at Granny’s Donuts make sure you get another dozen for later because once you try them, you will be wanting more!

To check out the latest trends in home and clothing support High Point’s local boutiques like Monkee’s, BohoBlu and Hangups. They have the latest trends stoked for a souvenir or gift for someone special or a new outfit for yourself! Monkee’s is located in an old firehouse station on Main street, and a creative atmosphere any customer will be inspired to create a new look with their chic clothing, shoes and jewelry!
