A family of trolls has made their way to North Carolina with a very special mission: to protect the Grandmother Tree. While the mother, father, and the three troll children have taken up residence in Raleigh, two have ventured to other areas, including High Point’s Little Sally and Charlotte’s Big Pete with the Big Feet. However, each troll carries clues to finding the mystical Grandmother Tree.

Something BIG has arrived in High Point...

High Point, North Carolina, is now home to a magical surprise, an enchanting giant troll sculpture by world-renowned Danish artist Thomas Dambo. This unique addition creates a one-of-a-kind experience: part art, part adventure, all for you to explore. The best part? The location remains a mystery.

Ready to meet Little Sally? Here are some Troll Tips!

She’s a gentle giant with a big heart and an even bigger message about caring for our planet. Here are a few Troll Tips to help you make the most of your visit while keeping her home happy and healthy.

1. Be Kind to Trolls (and Nature!)
Little Sally loves visitors, but she’s happiest when her home stays clean. Please take only photos and leave only footprints!

3. Follow the Path
Stick to marked trails and pathways so everyone can enjoy the site safely — and to protect the plants and creatures that share her home.

5. Bring a Friend (or Two!)
Trolls love company! Share the experience with family, friends, or your favorite adventure buddy.

7. Stay a While
Explore nearby parks, restaurants, and attractions. There’s plenty of magic in High Point beyond Sally’s forest!

2. Respect the Art
Little Sally may look sturdy, but she’s made from reclaimed wood. Please don’t climb or hang on her. She’s a gentle giant, not a jungle gym.

4. Learn the Story
Every Thomas Dambo troll has a tale. Read about Sally’s story and the global troll family to see how she connects to art, sustainability, and wonder.

6. Take a Troll Selfie
Sally loves smiling faces! Snap a photo and share it on social media using #LittleSallyHP or #VisitHP.

Meet the Artist

Danish artist and activist Thomas Dambo has started a worldwide movement of trolls. Thomas Dambo’s sculptures inspire viewers everywhere as he turns “waste into wonder.” They represent his passion for sustainability, community, and creativity. Made entirely of recycled materials, these trolls have taken up residence in 20 countries worldwide.

Now, Little Sally has made High Point home. Her presence represents Thomas Dambo and High Point’s creativity, community, and sense of play.
