Consistent feedback from community members and businesses is essential to the growth of High point as we continue to grow and reinvest in development throughout the city. My favorite travel quote relates perfectly to my goal in being on the board and helping others discover what High Point has to offer.

“The traveler sees what he sees, the tourist see what he has come to see”. We want to engage “tourists” visiting High Point so that they may become travelers.

High Point has so many wonderful opportunities for growth now and I am super excited about the newly formed HPxD and the First Tuesday event. This opens the door to our city for designers and retailers to come shop for their clients and stores year round! Now our guests can enjoy visiting High Point at a time that isn’t bustling with market attendees and can visit our restaurants, theaters, shops, museums and other wonderful amenities we now have.

Tourism is a continual source of income for High Point, both for public and private income sources.  We can improve so much in this great city by bringing people here to see our culture, sports, history, locally made goods, and of course all that comes from being the Furniture Capital of the World! Tourism also helps High Point create jobs specifically in the hotel industry, hospitality industry, service sector, entertainment, sports, and transportation industry.  For all of this to happen, we need to show everyone that High Point is a year-round destination and that they should visit and come to know us better!
